Boiled and filtered drinking water is available at the meditation centre. However, foreigners and the frail bodied should bring their own bottled water. The water in Tarakeshwar is hard and if boiled the calcium soluble particles can be greatly reduced by straining through a cloth.
The hardness is also greatly reduced. Locals drink the water without boiling it. There is a hand pump in Tarakeshwar from which drinking water is normally taken. The villagers drink the water from the first tank from which water is also offered to the deity at Tarakeshwar.
For small children getting fresh milk can be a problem. Parents are requested to bring tetra pack milk with them for their accompanying children.
